Consultancy and Training Services: Maximising your Community Capacity

Community Matters is the national provider of consultancy and training for the community sector. Our clients are community organisations throughout the UK, local government, national governments, regional bodies, housing associations, federations, local infrastructure organisations and others who are working with community organisations or leading programmes that impact the sector.

We play a key role in promoting and supporting action by ordinary people in response to social, educational and recreational needs in their neighbourhoods and communities and have been operating for over 60 years.

Our consultancy programmes are suitable for organisations and groups looking for more extended one-to-one advice and/or on-site support. The programmes aim to be affordable, appropriate and accessible, and currently include:

• A Major Consultancy service which utilises our team of professional consultants and is used by a variety of clients including local authorities, housing associations, regeneration partnerships, local development agencies.

• A Commercial Consultancy service for national and local government, community groups, housing associations etc on issues such as asset transfer, bar/trading separation, and incorporation.

• A Community Consultancy service for Member Community Organisations using our team of specialist professional consultants and community volunteers to provide advice and information on all our core specialisms. This is deliberately a low cost service to community organisations with the first visit being free to members. The majority of enquiries can be dealt with effectively by a single visit.

• Supporting Local Communities Through Training: Community Matters' training courses have been specifically developed for community organisations and those who help or support them. We also provide training for Local Authorities, Housing Associations and others who are working with or supporting community organisations.
