Community Asset Transfer: Demonstration Programme
The Programme has been running since 2007 and is entering its fourth year, which as before will demonstrate in selected local authority areas how local authorities and local community-led third sector organisations can be supported to develop joint plans for asset transfer and to begin to implement them.
The demonstration programme is funded by Communities & Local Government as part of implementing the conclusions of the Quirk Review ‘Making Assets Work’ and from 2009 managed by the new Asset Transfer Unit, which has been set up to manage the Advancing Assets for Communities demonstration programme, which is delivered by the Development Trusts Association in association with Community Matters and the Local Government Association,

New Guidance note on Hints & Tips for Funding Bids
Finding funding through grants is hard work; it is time consuming and can be frustrating. The process may seem to be full of obstacles and paperwork, but most funders will help with the application process – they want to give money to organisations which can help them deliver their charitable, social or environmental objectives – and thorough preparation can encourage them to work with you rather than others.
If you are ready to work hard, be persistent and overcome the obstacles there is a great deal of help and support available to help deliver your vision as well as numerous funding opportunities to work towards. It is worth the effort!Although challenging the rewards can be great and far outweigh the original aims of your project.Successful projects raise the profile of the organisation, enhance the sense of community in the area and have visible results.
