We are pleased to let you know that Kindle has published Commissioning and the Community Sector a Talking Trusts publication. The free down load publication has been written for community sector organisations to help them better understand how local authority commissioners are working to improve outcomes for children, young people and families and how they can make themselves “commissioning ready”.
- Kindle has worked with the Commissioning Support Programme to support Commissioning and the Community Sector. The document and a range of supporting resources are available to download from the Commissioning Support Programme website
- We have also created an online community of practice on this website where community organisations can share their experiences of being commissioned by local authorities and also seek guidance about how commissioning is working.
- To get the full benefits of membership of this online community of practice then register as a member of the Commissioning Support Programme website here. This will give you access to a whole range of resources on commissioning that you may find interesting.
- A limited number of printed copies of the Commissioning and the Community Sector will be available shortly.
- The partnership is currently working its fourth Talking Trusts publication aimed at local authority commissioners and other commissioning bodies to help to get the best out of the Community Sector.

Talking Trusts
The CSPCYP has published two policy papers focusing on the relationship between children's trusts and the community sector. The first, Talking Trusts, sets out straightforward recommendations encouraging children’s trusts to do more to engage with voluntary and community sector partners, especially small organisations who are doing critical work with children or young people on the ground. The second, Community Involvement In Children’s Trusts – Unlock Your Potential, offers guidance for community and voluntary organisations delivering services to children or young people on how to engage effectively with children's trusts.
