Intergenerational Work in Community Organisations Seminar and Workshop - London, July 2009
This was a free joint event between the Community Alliance London and Youth at the Centre Programme aimed at exploring intergenerational work in community anchor and similar organisations in London. The aim of the event was to:
- Learn about successful examples of intergenerational work in community anchors
- Participate in table discussions about the potential for intergenerational work in their organisations
- Find out more about potential sources of funding and support for intergenerational work
- Meet and network with other community anchor organisations from across London
The event was a range of presentations, workshops and networking opportunities and all of the delegates found this event useful, with some commenting that they wished the event had been longer. Other comments include:

How to survive commissioning: Top tips on providing successful commissioned services - Liverpool, April 2009

Community Matters and NAVCA held a joint commissioning event in Liverpool on 21 April 2009 for LIOs and third sector organisations providing and delivering services for children and young people.
The event was a mixture of presentations and workshops that gave delegates:
- information on the commissioning process
- an opportunity to find out more about local structures and systems
- a chance to hear from regional and local commissioners.
Over 40 delegates attended the event held at the Lace Conference Centre in Croxteth. There were opportunities to network and discuss issues and concerns with colleagues from the region and delegates scored the event highly in their feedback. Comments included;
