Bar & Trading Separation
If your community organisation's building has a bar, or if the organisation undertakes trading activities, you need to ensure that you're complying fully with charity, tax and licensing laws. In most cases charities can't run a bar or trading activities on a regular basis without committing a breach of trust. The answer lies in separating your bar and trading from the charitable activities of the organisation. You can set up a trading company limited by shares, or a registered social club.
Community Matters has undertaken hundreds of specialist bar and trading separations, and offers a full service package at £2,500 + VAT which includes:
- up to three consultancy visits
- all negotiations with the Charity Commission, Companies House or FSA
- the full cost and registration of the trading subsidiary
- company formation undertaken by our solicitor
- use of our model Memorandum and Articles
- help with paperwork
- a telephone helpline
