* Please note: there is an error in the brochure regarding the price of accommodation for Thursday and Saturday nights and regarding the double occupancy rate. The correct sums are £103 for Thursday night and £67 for Saturday night. There is no reduction for double occupancy. Our apologies for any inconvenience this has caused.

Some exciting innovations at Community Matters 2008 conference:

The theme:

  • Empowering Communities – an issue central to government policy at the moment and on which community organisations have much to say
  • Minister for the Third Sector, Phil Hope MP confirmed
  • Opposition spokesperson on the third sector invited
  • A wide range of sessions and activities and a healthy ‘market place’ of stalls and demonstrations

Two full days

  • Friday and Saturday to suit both paid staff and volunteers
  • A flexible booking system with each day, conference dinner and overnight accommodation bookable separately

The venue

  • The very comfortable 4 star Hinckley Island Hotel in Leicestershire - but without substantially altering the price!
  • All bedrooms are en-suite doubles as standard
  • 15 minutes taxi ride from Nuneaton railway station. Easy access by car, close to M1 & M6
  • Hotel facilities include - 600 parking spaces, several bars and restaurants (all conference meals included in price and conference will have its own private bar), gym, swimming pool, sauna, spa, solarium

The price

  • Full two days - Friday 9:30am to Saturday 4pm (inc meals and overnight)
  •   Band 1
  • Friday 5pm to Saturday 4pm (inc meals and 1 overnight)
  •   Band 2
  • Friday overnight to Saturday 4pm (inc means but not conference dinner)
  •   Band 3
  • Friday 9:30am to 5pm (including lunch and refreshments)
  •   Band 4
  • Saturday 9am to 4pm (including lunch and refreshments)
  •   Band 5
